Proton Drive (Preferred)

End-to-end encrypted file sharing

Why Proton Drive?

Proton Drive is similar to Google Drive, but from the privacy focussed company behind Proton Mail.

Unlike Google Drive, documents in Proton Drive are end-to-end encrypted meaning Proton (or anyone not a collaborator) are unable to read their contents. Proton is also based in Switzerland, so file contents are protected by strict Swiss privacy laws.

Process

  1. Oktually creates a file to share with you
  2. You are invited as collaborator to the file
  3. From the invite sent to your email, you create or sign into a Proton account
  4. API tokens and other config are exchanged within the file
  5. Once Oktually has begun ingesting your Okta data, the shared file is deleted
